Sacraments

Our Catholic faith is a lifelong journey. With each sacrament we receive God’s grace and grow closer to Christ. The Catholic Church, guided by the Holy Spirit, recognizes Seven Sacraments given to us by Christ. They are the Sacraments of Initiation (Baptism, Confirmation, the Eucharist), the Sacraments of Healing (Reconciliation and the Anointing of the Sick), and the Sacraments at the Service of Communion (Marriage and Holy Orders). The Sacramental Guidelines of the Archdiocese of Washington require that readiness be determined before children receive the Sacraments of Baptism, Confirmation, Eucharist, and Reconciliation. We look forward to working with you to prepare for these moments of grace.

Through the Sacraments, God shares his holiness with us so that we, in turn, can make the world holier.
